Setting: Leonida (Fictional Florida)

GTA 6 takes place in the state of Leonida, Rockstar's fictional version of Florida. The map includes:

- Vice City — the neon-soaked, Miami-inspired metropolis
- Grassrivers — rural countryside areas inspired by the Everglades
- Leonida Keys — tropical island chains
- Suburbs, swamps, beaches, and small towns spanning the entire state

Protagonists: Jason & Lucia

For the first time in GTA history, the game features two playable protagonists in a romantic criminal duo:

- Jason Duval — described as a reckless risk-taker
- Lucia Caminos — the first female protagonist in a mainline GTA game
